Local band cuts a deal… finally. (3/01/11)

Local Industrial-Punk band ‘Tri-State Suburbicide All-stars’ was signed to an Independent label last summer, six months after front man Johnny Omaha died from complications resulting from drugs. The band, now called Omaha Got Punched, is comprised of Oliver Lincoln, Billy Topeka, Alexander St. Louis and Jimmy Wichita.

New front man, St. Louis was asked about the new name and said, “We decided to pay homage to Johnny. The whole thing was his idea originally. We sat around drinking beers one night, talking about a new name and going over our favorite memories of him. Wichita brought up this time when we were playing a bar in Canton and this fight broke out. John went to break it up and got knocked out. We used to laugh about it all the time. So, now we’re Omaha Got Punched, and that’s the name they signed us under.”

The band has spent the past six months in the studio recording their first professional album. The self-titled album is due to release in the spring and will be followed by a short tour of the bands favorite local spots to play. Plans for a nationwide tour are rumored to be in the works.
