The Garou known to most as Reflection of Shadows is a Lupus who grew up in the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge on the eastern coast of North Carolina. The refuge is part of a program started in 1987 to bring the then nearly extinct red wolf population back into the wild. When a strangely sick yet powerful wolf invaded his pack's territory and attacked the frustration and outrage Reflection of Shadows felt triggered his first change. A kin-fetch spirit keeping watch over him alerted a nearby group of Uktena who live among the Eastern Band of Cherokee inhabiting the Qualla Boundary in western North Carolina. They retrieved the newly changed Cub and began to instruct him what he needed to know.

Once succeeding in his Rite of Passage he traveled from his new home, where as a Cub tales of events in the central Ohio area reached his ears and drew him northward. Reflection of Shadows is a Garou who rarely speaks and when he does it is typically with few words. He talks even less about his personal information and his life before journeying to the Sept of Whispered Oaths in order to make a place for himself. He is, however, always willing to listen.

Reflection of Shadows does not possess any outstanding physical qualities. In the form of his birth he appears as a typical red wolf. His fur is streaked with red and black while possessing a smaller and more wiry build than the more common grey wolf does. In his human shape he appears distinctly Native American, mostly due to the Cherokee heritage from his father's side of his lineage.
