The Ahroun known to Whispered Oaths as Asteria states that he grew up in a caern of the Children of Gaia in New Jersey. His father, a Strider who abandoned his mother's bed before daybreak, left him nothing besides a simmering hatred and a bronze token on a thong, bearing the likenesses of both Firebird and the right Eye of Ra. He has never met his mother, and comes to the sept of Whispered Oaths to put himself to use while searching for more clues of her pack's current whereabouts.
