Disciplinary Policy

LARPing in Rage Across Columbus: Wyld Prophets is a consensual social experience. As such, there are certain expectations. Players, Storytellers, and Narrators are expected to adhere to the following rules.

  • No non‐consensual touching of other game participants.
  • No stunts or physically dangerous activity.
  • No weapons or props that look like or appear to be weapons.
  • No illegal drugs or alcohol. Possession, use, and being under the effect of said substances are all violations.
  • No cheating.
Metagaming is cheating and is the hallmark of a bad roleplayer.
Metagaming, for the purpose of definition, is the act of using any information gathered by any out‐of‐character actions into the game via their in‐character actions. Obviously ʺhonest mistakesʺ will occasionally happen, and for the most part will be forgiven as their overall impact is usually relatively small. Intentional metagaming accusations will be investigated and punished based on the severity of disruption that the intentional metagaming caused.

Falsifying Sign‐in information, Character Sheets, Item Cards, etc. is likely going to be immediate grounds for a permanent removal from the game.
Using Traits, Abilities, Gifts, Rituals, Backgrounds, Influences, Merits, etc. that are not on your sheet, in addition to neglecting to keep track of your character’s health and expenditures.
Intentionally lying to another Player, Narrator, or Storyteller about game mechanics, story line, etc. in order to gain an advantage.

  • Be mindful of others.
Remember that this is a game. Just because you dislike someone’s character isn’t grounds to hate the player.
Remember that part of the role‐playing experience is to be something that you’re not.

  • Do not abuse your position as Storyteller or Narrator for personal gain or agenda.
  • Illegal acts, most specifically Sexual Harassment, shall be prohibited.
  • No disruptive behavior.
Rules Lawyering: Arguing with the Storytellers or other players over game mechanics, story line, etc. in order to get their way. This is obviously different from legitimate questions about rules and such, and should not be confused.

  • OOC Verbal assault, Physical abuse and other such actions are likely to get one removed from the game.
  • Emotional Control. Players who fail to keep their emotions in‐check when something happens (usually to their character) in game will be reminded politely that it’s just a game. Temper tantrums and the like belong elsewhere.

Obviously, use common sense with all rules. If you ever have a question regarding if something is allowed, ask a Storyteller first. The list above is provided as a general guideline, and is by no means the final arbiter of what is and is not allowed.

Potential Disciplinary Actions
The Storyteller crew will determine violations of the rules. Their decision will be based on the severity of the infraction. Judgments can include the following singularly or in any combination.

  • Verbal warning.
  • Ejection from the game session.
  • Loss of experience points for the session.
  • Submission for vote for an OWBN Strike.
  • Loss of character or parts thereof.
  • Red‐lining of scenes.
  • Banned from game attendance and/or participation (either temporarily or permanently).
  • Legal action as appropriate.
